Bill Gray Road Cleanup Photo Galleries: Judy and Dave Miller organized two Bill Gray Road cleanups. Special thanks on the April 9 cleanup to UniSource Energy who provided a loader and volunteers through their CAT (Community Action Team) program. The April 9 cleanup was a multi-jurisdictional cleanup, a collaborative effort all around. A roll-off dumpster was provided by the Arizona State Land Department. Three pickups, a trash trailer, litterbags, volunteer insurance agreements, and seven employees were provided by Coconino National Forest's Red Rock Ranger District. Yavapai County Community Service workers participated, as well as Verde Santa Fe volunteers. Debbie LaFrance brought safety vests, litterbags, and refreshments. The refreshments were compliments of Safeway. Tim Costello of the City of Cottonwood furnished a loader/backhoe while Pat Haynie of the Town of Clarkdale furnished a dump truck. Jess Tyler contacted Bill Webster at the State Land Department for litterbags and "No Dumping" signs to post in the area after the cleanup.
On April 6 Yavapai County Supervisor Chip Davis collaborated with the Stewards of Public Lands and Yavapai County Public Works to pick up three junk vehicles illegally abandoned on county conservation lands. The vehicles were lifted by a backhoe onto a flatbed trailer and hauled to B&R Salvage. The planners met on the ground with a Flagstaff Arboretum botanist to identify conservation needs.
