A BIG DAY for COTTONWOOD and the VERDE VALLEY!

The Mingus Avenue Extension is a two-mile stretch of new regional roadway that connects Main Street in Cottonwood to SR89A at Cornville Road. The new roadway and bridge over the Verde River provides a needed arterial connection for the Verde Valley. Yavapai County District 3 Supervisor A.G. "Chip" Davis served as master of ceremonies at the ribbon cutting held January 15, 2005. Bicyclists, skaters and walkers enjoyed first use of the bridge, which officially opened to traffic later in the day. The project was a joint effort between Yavapai County and the city of Cottonwood.
